CA buys yet another small security vendor

Following its recent acquisition of PestPatrol, a leading spyware removal tool vendor, and the desktop firewall vendor Tiny Software, CA announced today the acquisition of Qurb Inc.

Qurb may be fairly unknown, but it offers an interesting set of features to protect against email-based security threats, in particular spam, phishing scams and fraud for Outlook and Outlook Express. And you can instantly search your emails...

Of course, this acquisition further extends CA's security management portfolio. Although Qurb was already marketed as eTrust Anti-Spam, CA will now be able to integrate all these products into the eTrust Threat Management suite.

If and when it integrates all of its security solutions, CA will probably have the best security management portfolio on the market for consumers, small, medium and large enterprises.

The datasheet (PDF) for Qurb 3.0 can be found here, the CA press release about the acquisition here.
