Your Privacy, our Policy

I.T. Works is very committed to protecting the privacy of its customers and the visitors to its Web sites. Hence, we comply with the Belgian privacy law of December 8th, 1992, the Data Protection Directive of 1995, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/AVG) of April 27th, 2016.

What information do we collect ? Our database may contain your name, job title, address, company you work for, phone numbers, email address, possibly Twitter account and LinkedIn address, and the seminars you have attended or were interested in. We do not sell nor rent your personal data to third parties, or use it in any unauthorised way. We do not collect sensitive information, which e.g. also means that we do not remember your dietary or allergy requirements from one training to the other.

What do we do with this information ? We use this information for all the logistic and administrative fulfillment surrounding a particular training (confirmation, invoicing and reminders, evaluation survey, list of participants, delivery of handouts, quality control, ...), and to send you information about similar training products and follow-up services that we offer (legitimate interest, gerechtvaardigd belang).

Who has Access to Course Participation Records ? During the preparation of our trainings, we share the names and job titles of participants to tailor the course to the audience. Also, if you attend a Blackmetric course which is Endorsed by IIBA, Blackmetric will keep a record of your name, the course you have attended and the date of attendance. This data is held by Blackmetric Business Solutions Ltd as a data controller to verify your course attendance, please see Blackmetric's full privacy statement here.

Of course, we always put your privacy first, and comply to all rights of the data subject in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/AVG):

  • Right of Access: data subjects have the right to ask a copy of the information we have about them free of charge. Please send your request to our C3PO.
  • Right to Rectification: if our data is inaccurate or incomplete, please let us know
  • Right to Erasure (a.k.a. Right to be Forgotten): if you ask us to remove your details from our database, we will stop all further processing of your personal data on simple request
  • Right to Data Portability: we can provide the information we have about you in a readable format (XML/JSON/CSV). E.g. we can send you a list of seminars you attended with us, along with dates and locations.
  • Your privacy information contact: Patrick Van Renterghem is the C3PO (Chief Privacy, Protection and Processing Officer) of IT Works (contact him by email). We do not need a DPO as stipulated in the GDPR.

We use cookies to provide a more personalised browsing experience when visiting our Web sites, and we use Google Analytics to analyse the usage of our Web site. We have implemented data protection measures, and use two-factor authentication and encryption wherever possible, as well as GDPR-compliant mailing services and cloud storage.

Your Privacy

We take your privacy and our responsibility to protect it very seriously.

At I.T. Works, we take your privacy and our responsibility to protect it very seriously. We have created this statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to making sure your personal information is safe and secure with us. It is our promise to you that, unless you tell us otherwise, any information you provide to us about yourself will be known only by you and I.T. Works. We do not store any sensitive (health, religion, sexual preference, ...) information.

We collect information every time a visitor comes to our Web sites. In order to access certain areas of our Web sites, users are asked to register and provide us with certain information. This information is used to provide you with the best possible experience and to tailor our products and promotional offers to your interests and needs. Our purpose is to improve the overall quality of our Web sites and the products and services we provide. Individual information is never disclosed to others. You can always browse our Web sites without entering any personal information and therefore remain anonymous during your visit. However, when you register for an I.T. Works seminar, or order training handouts, a book, or an I.T. Works report, we need to know your name, job title, company name, shipping address, phone number, e-mail address, etc. This allows us to process and fulfill your registration/order, and to notify you of your registration/order status. This information is stored in our database. Because this is not accessible online, customers can not modify their details themselves.

When you visit one of the I.T. Works Web sites, our Web servers record your IP address and/or domain name (standard web site logging). We can use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and administer our Web site. We can also use your IP address to identify you, to track a user's session, and to gather other, non-customer specific demographic information. This information can be used for statistical purposes only and can be analysed to constantly improve the quality and accessibility of the information available on our Web sites.

When visiting our Web sites you may receive "cookies", small pieces of information that are stored by your Web browser on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies to save information such as passwords and preferences so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our sites, and to deliver content tailored to your interests. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but they enable us to identify individual users for site personalisation and to improve overall navigation. You may also be served cookies from our advertisers or sponsors while visiting our Web sites. We do not control, nor do we have access to any of the information they may collect. If you do not wish to accept cookies, most Web browsers allow you to reject cookies. Please note, however, that if you choose not to accept cookies, you may encounter difficulties using certain parts of our Web sites.

We use the information we collect to occasionally notify you by e-mail about important changes to our Web sites, to introduce you to new I.T. Works services, to draw your attention to special offers in I.T. Works reports or I.T. Works seminars, or to point you to other things we think you will find valuable. If you would rather not receive these messages, send an e-mail message to stop@itworks.be or to our C3PO.

In its e-mail marketing, I.T. Works complies to the Belgian spam law of 11 March 2003, the European directive 2002/58/EC, and the GDPR/AVG regulation of April 26th 2016, effective from May 25th, 2018. We only send emails to people who have either attended a training, or have shown interest in them (legitimate interest), and you have the right to object, correct, opt-out and be forgotten. If you feel that you get too many emails but do not want to opt-out completely, you may switch to the "overview mode", and you will get only 1 email per month with a short overview of our upcoming trainings.

I.T. Works does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. I.T. Works may provide aggregate statistics about our visitors, their traffic patterns, and related Web site information to reputable on-line advertising agencies, but these statistics will not include any personally identifying information. I.T. Works has a very strict anti-spam policy: all emails contain our full contact information, and requests to be removed or modified to "overview mode", where you get only 1 email per month, are handled promptly.

You may update or change your personal information at any time by simply sending a request to our C3PO from one of the e-mail addresses you have left with us. We will then send you all the information we have collected about you within 30 days, and you can update or change this information and send it back to us. For other questions related to updating or changing your personal information, please send e-mail to privacy@itworks.be.

By using our Web sites, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information by I.T. Works. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it to others. Your continued use of our Web sites after the posting of any changes to our privacy policy constitutes your agreement to those changes.
