 Learning Objectives

Why do we organise this knowledge booster session ?

Knowledge booster sessions are short, live, interactive, online meetings about a specific topic. These can be eye-openers, brief explanations of new trends and technologies, or discussions about new developments that will impact your business. If you have a need or an idea about a knowledge booster, do not hesitate to contact us.

In this session, we'll have a quick look at the minimalism concept in project management and P3.express, which is a non-proprietary, minimalist project management method.

We'll review what P3.express is and see its similarities and differences with other systems such as PRINCE2®, PMBOK® Guide, and Scrum. Then we'll have an overview of the cyclic process of P3.express to see how it works. Finally, a few free resources you can use to learn more about P3.express will be introduced.

Check out the online manual for P3.express.

We decided to run a knowledge booster session about the minimalism concept in project management and P3.express because we see many companies struggling with project management when they use the agile Scrum method, and with more elaborate project management methodologies like PRINCE2® and PMI's PMBOK®. In particular, many companies have questions about the bureaucratic nature of these methods, and were looking for a more minimalistic approach to project management.

Despite the existence of great fundamental PM frameworks such as PRINCE2® and the PMBOK® Guide, most projects are run intuitively, without the help of a structured project management system. This is the case because the fundamental standards, while invaluable, are too complex for normal projects.

Here are a few reasons why you should attend this session:

  • You've heard "something" about P3.express
  • You're working with PRINCE2, PMBOK or Scrum
  • You are looking for a lightweight project management framework

This free interactive online session is presented and facilitated by Project Management Author, Speaker, and Adviser Nader K. Rad.

Nader started working with projects about 25 years ago: first, as a project planner in construction projects, and then he moved to large process-plant projects.

In parallel, he was also involved in IT projects and startups, and gradually moved from project planning into the wider project management domain by helping project managers and companies improve their project, program, and portfolio management systems.

Nowadays, he is spending most of his time contributing to standards (P3.express, NUPP (Nearly Universal Principles of Projects), PRINCE2®, PRINCE2 Agile®, and the PMBOK® Guide), and developing eLearning courses in his company, Management Plaza.

We will try to answer your questions. If possible, please send in your questions upfront via pvr@itworks.be or put them in the chat during the session. You can indicate your interest in this session via the LinkedIn Event page, but you will only get the meeting link if you register properly via the button below.
